Vivid Ink is the UK’s leading tattoo studios, with 13 locations across the Midlands and a team of around 100 artists. We receive a high volume of apprenticeship applications, so we are looking for individuals who truly stand out through exceptional artistic ability, a strong portfolio, and a clear dedication to mastering their craft.
Successful applicants will demonstrate their talent through online portfolios, social media links, and photographs up to 10 of their strongest pieces of artwork. Beyond technical skill, we value passion, commitment, and the right attitude.

We want to see links to your online portfolios socials and photographs of at least 10 of your best pieces of artwork, we want to you demonstrate your artistic ability as this is the basic prerequisite for becoming an outstanding tattoo artist
We take time to understand each apprentice. Once you’ve built a strong foundation, we encourage you to specialise in your chosen style, with the confidence to handle any tattoo independently.

Traditionally, apprenticeships involved “proving your worth.” (making coffee, cleaning floors, and so on). We don’t believe in that. If you have a strong art portfolio, respect for the industry, and a passion to learn, we’ll give you hands-on practice without the outdated hierarchy.
At Vivid Ink, you’ll learn not just the technical skills of tattooing but also the importance of client care, ensuring every customer feels welcome and valued, whether it’s their first tattoo or their tenth.
