What’s your background before tattooing?
Before Vivid Ink I had been to college and uni in London to study fine art and had worked in bars until joining the Vivid team.
What styles of tattoo do you specialise in?
I primarily work with black and grey realism and dabble with colour realism and other styles depending on the request of the customer. My favourite would be anything gothic horror based.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Outside of work I try to meet with friends and try to relax with a good film.
What's the most enjoyable part of your job?
The enjoyable part of this job would be getting to know my customers. Since I started I have gained many returning customers and over the hours we have many laughs and deep conversations. To then see their reaction once the tattoo is complete and making them happy is very rewarding.
What is the most meaningful tattoo you have done and why?
The most meaningful would have been on my own mum. During lockdown we were isolating together and I asked her if I could do my first portrait on her, this was of my older brother who had unfortunately passed away. My mum had been waiting years to find an artist she trusted to do this and it’s was even more special that it was done by myself even asking her made her light up. It was a very emotional day for us both but not only that the knowledge I gained from this tattoo also meant I could begin to do this for customers which massively impacted my career.
