Yoana Tsvetkova

Hi, I'm Yoana Tsvetkova

Tattoo Artist @ Vivid Ink Birmingham

A Fine Art graduate from university in her native Bulgaria, Jo brings a classical artistic foundation to every piece she creates. Her journey with Vivid Ink began over 10 years ago, after being introduced to us in 2016 by our very first artist, Dorian. Knowing the level of quality Dorian represents, we had high expectations, and Jo exceeded them from day one.

It quickly became clear that Jo possesses immense natural talent. Specialising in both realistic colour and black and grey, her exceptional understanding of light, shadow and tone, gives each tattoo remarkable depth and lifelike presence.

Outside of the studio, Jo enjoys painting, training, and unwinding with her beloved cat, Momo.

    What's your background before tattooing?

I’ve always been passionate about art. I studied at the National Academy of Arts in my native Bulgaria, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in 2016. Before tattooing full-time, I was constantly drawing, painting, and developing my style.

What styles of tattoo do you specialise in?

I specialise in all forms of realistic tattoos but my absolute favourite is colour realism. I love creating pieces that feel lifelike, full of depth, soft tones and detail.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Spending time with my cat Momo is one of my favourite pastimes, he’s so cute! I also love drawing, painting, and training to keep myself active and balanced.

What's the most enjoyable part of your job?

Seeing clients happy and confident with their tattoos is the best feeling. I love being able to help someone feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin. I also really enjoy the day to day chats and connections, both with my clients and my co-workers.

What is the most meaningful tattoo you have done and why?

One of my favourites was a Winnie the Pooh tattoo I did for my mum. It meant so much to her because it was her favourite book when she was little. Being able to create something that personal for her made it extra special for me too.
