A Historic Homecoming in Birmingham
This summer we saw the city of Birmingham come to life for the final show of the iconic brummy band Black Sabbath and its front man, Ozzy Osbourne! Fans from across the globe flocked to the birthplace of heavy metal to witness a historic night which was a celebration for decades of musical legacy. For Birmingham, it wasn’t just a concert, it was a homecoming, a farewell and a tribute to the band that helped shape the sound, style and music of a generation.
Here at Vivid Ink, we have been very busy throughout the last few months as many fans have wanted to commemorate their memories of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne with a tribute tattoo! People have travelled from across the UK and even overseas to the city of Birmingham, the birthplace of Sabbath and the place they performed their incredible final show to pay their respects and celebrate the band’s incredible legacy. We’ve been honoured at Vivid Ink to help them mark those memories with lasting tattoos and be a part of their legacy. Honouring Ozzy’s Legacy
On July 22nd, 2025, we sadly lost Birmingham’s own Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, just 17 days after his unforgettable, history-making Villa Park show which raised an incredible £140 million for local charities. The news came as a shock to fans across the globe, as many were still celebrating the energy and emotion of that final performance. Since then, our studios have become a place of remembrance, where fans have come to pay tribute to not only the legendary rockstar but also the loving family man behind the music. From bold portraits capturing his larger-than-life presence, to delicate recreations of his signature, song lyrics and even simple tattoos of his name, each piece tells a personal story of connection, loss, and gratitude. These tributes serve as a powerful reminder that while we may have lost Ozzy in person, his spirit, music, and influence live on through the people who carry him with them forever.
Vivid Ink at the Heart of Sabbath History
Situated right in the centre of Birmingham, Vivid Ink is surrounded by some of the city’s most iconic Black Sabbath landmarks. Just a short walk away, you’ll find the iconic Black Sabbath Bridge which holds the legendary steel bench, placed as a tribute to the band in 2019 as well as Tony Iommi’s star on Broad Street. Our Vivid Ink Birmingham studio is also a 2-minute walk away from the iconic Crown pub, where Sabbath played their first ever gig! We’re proud to have our Birmingham studio rooted amongst these historic locations, giving fans the chance to honour their love for Sabbath with a tattoo in the very place where it all began.
